Check out this Spiffing GPS Adventure with lashings of Ginger Beer!

A few months ago Huntfun was approached with an absolutely corking idea for a very special Treasure Hunt! We were asked to put together a rip roaring Famous Five themed 50th Birthday for some adventure thrill seekers! Taking in the breath-taking Weymouth coastline our challengers had to brave the high seas on Kayaks and RIB's to score points and win the day!



With the challenge set the planning stage began! Each team had to travel to and complete three stages. 'Home' where the teams needed to use their wits to uncover the mystery code to unlock their bicycles. 'Smuggler's Cove' where teams had to take to the water in Kayaks to reach the hidden cave! And lastly 'The Marina', where teams boarded their faithful RIB to take to the high seas! More challenges awaited them in the surrounding waters, as our fantastic crew sailed out to the famous Portland Bill Lighthouse.



Our three teams all started out with a mysterious letter and a text message on their phones inviting them to become part of the hunt, even dressing in famous five costumes, the teams first task was to explore the surrounding area using the Huntfun Map on their Smartphones discovering clues and tasks. Each task scored them points and also revealed another digit of the code to unlock their bicycles, once they unlocked the bikes the teams were on the road heading to the next stage of their adventure!

On the cycle route to Smuggler's Cove the teams encountered more of our puzzles, racking up more points and also uncovering the passcode to unlock the Kayaks. At the cove itself the teams got out onto the water, narrowly avoiding getting wet as we had them scramble across a raft of Kayaks and exploring the Hidden Smuggler's cave nearby!



Teams then got to enjoy the breath-taking scenery of the Southern clifftops cycling back to Weymouth, solving our Famous Five themed riddles and posing for plenty of photographs along the way, teams uncovered all of the digits of the next combination bar one... looking around in desperation they finally come across an unlikely sight! Our very own Ginger Beer Salesman! Rewarding our teams with lashings of ginger beer our salesman revealed the last digit of the combination, unlocking the RIB and the high seas!





Out on the water powering along in their own high speed crafts Teams explored the nearby harbour before setting sail south to the Isle of Portland and it's southernmost lighthouse Portland Bill!



On returning to dry land teams then had a flat out race to cycle home in time for tea! Picking up last minute points and opportunities to splat each other with custard pies and stealing some points. In the end all of the teams were the winners and a great day was had by all!

This Treasure Hunt was put together using one of our ‘Anywhere’ Hunts and really goes to show the level of versatility and imagination that you can achieve using our GPS program.
